History of The Play
Inaugurated by Paddy Salmon, former Head of SIS, in 1988, ‘The Play’ is unique amongst the International Sections in France, and it remains arguably the flagship event of the school year for the whole community.
A small but impressive group of anglophone section teachers are at the heart of the annual Play. Many scripts are original works by the teacher-producers or are adaptations of literary classics. Students audition for the roles and are then coached throughout the year through regular rehearsals from the autumn through to the spring term.
Over 100 students from lower and upper secondary across 4 sites come together with their dramatic and musical talents - backstage and onstage - each student having a special role in creating the always outstanding and entertaining performances in our local theatres in Boulogne or Sèvres each year.
